Projection mapping is often accomplished with numerous types of projectors with differentiating factors such as, short, medium, and long throw optics, brightness, contrast and zoom, among many others.
While we see a wide spectrum of projectors used over many experiences, it isn’t clear which projectors are most useful, and for what kinds of experiences. There are a number of tools that help inform what projectors to use (projector central has a great calculator) depending on the size and distance from the scene, yet we don’t know how these projectors pan out practically in the field.
Here at PMC, we are setting out to find an answer. We’ve spoken to a number of folks doing projection mapping, but want to collect answers from the broader community.
