Created by the visual artist Palmer Eldritch aka Denial of Service, “Onryō” is the latest in the series of audio/video releases that combines tech-noir chaos with reaction-diffusion sequences created in Max/Jitter, courtesy of Paul Fennell.
The software used to create various visual elements included 3DSMax / VRay, FumeFX, Processing 3.x, Max-Jitter, Ready, After Effects, PFTrack and for sound Ableton Live, NI FM8/Kontakt/Reaktor, Eventide Suite, GForce Suite, Sound Forge /Waves, Roland TR808 /TR606 /SH101,
Most of the reaction-diffusion sequences were created in Max/Jitter courtesy of Paul Fennell open-source code which Palmer modified to suit. – some were concocted on Ready (a program for exploring continuous and discrete cellular automata, including reaction-diffusion systems, on grids and arbitrary meshes). Most overlays were the result of copious P3.x multiscale Turing noise patterns experimentation, as well as, sonifications courtesy of Tomasz Sulej.
